DESCRIPTION:Alternatives to the industrial food system model have always ex
isted\, but do we\nknow where to look? Through a series of interviews and
discussion broadcast over\nthe radio\, we want to dig into alternative foo
d networks and explore the actors\nand initiatives that embody and sustain
them. From farmers engaging local\nmarkets and green-michelin restaurants
rooted in the local\, to urban consumer\ncoops and social kitchens\, we w
ant to explore and give the stage to alternative\nways of engaging with fo
od and agriculture.\n\nAFNR focuses on the alternative networks nested in
the Rijnmond area in the\nNetherlands. This series explores how varied urb
an and rural actors perceive\,\ncommunicate\, and relate to food and to ea
ch other to create alternative food\nnetworks (AFNs).\n\nFor our sixth epi
sode\, we’ll be sitting down with Renée Verhoeven to chat about\nher curre
nt work at Tuinderij de Stadsboerin\, a small ecological garden that\nwork
s with a self-harvest system on the outskirts of Rotterdam. We’ll also tal
k\nto Renée about her plans for her future farm!\n\nTune in at stream.vvvv
