DESCRIPTION:Join us for an interactive workshop on mutual aid\, inspired by
the\ntransformative work of Mariame Kaba and Dean Spade. This session wil
l explore\nhow communities can come together to meet immediate needs while
building\nlong-term systems of care and solidarity beyond traditional cha
rity models.\n\nDrawing on Kaba’s emphasis on collective care\, alongside
Spade’s practical\nframeworks for organizing mutual aid projects\, partici
pants will gain both\ntheoretical grounding and actionable tools. We will
discuss the principles that\ndistinguish mutual aid from charity\, includi
ng shared responsibility and a\ncommitment to addressing root causes of in
equality.\n\nThrough guided discussion and collaborative exercises\, atten
dees will reflect on\ntheir own communities and identify opportunities for
building or strengthening\nmutual aid networks. Whether you are new to th
ese ideas or already involved in\ngrassroots organizing\, this workshop is
open for everyone.\n\nTogether we will imagine and practice ways of suppo
rting one another that are\nrooted in trust\, dignity and collective power
. By the end of the session\,\nparticipants will leave with concrete ideas
\, resources and connections to help\nsustain mutual aid efforts in their
own contexts.\n\nThis workshop is facilitated by Zouhair Hammana\, a lectu
rer and PhD researcher\nat Erasmus University Rotterdam. His work engages
critically with questions of\npedagogy\, institutional structures and tran
sformative learning practices.\n\nAll are welcome to join this space of le
	arning\, reflection and collective\naction.\n\nAbout Dokhuis Dialogue\nIn
the Dokhuis Dialogue\, we make our search for ways of living together tang
ible\nby engaging with the topic of human rights. In this dialogue series
	— organized\nby Hosein\, Nickel\, and Inge — we explore what human rights
are\, where they are\nvulnerable\, and how we can protect them. By differi
ng respectfully and listening\nto one another’s experiences\, we create aw
	areness\, deepen understanding\, and\nbuild real bridges between people\,
perspectives\, and ways of thinking.\n\nThe dialogue evenings include work
	shops\, reading sessions\, lectures\, film\nscreenings with discussions\,
and conversations with experts from legal\,\njournalistic\, political\, an
d activist backgrounds. In various ways\, we invite\nyou to be curious and
to engage with human rights on both a personal and\ncollective level.\n\n
During the evening\, we will jointly decide on the language of the event.
Are you\nnot very comfortable speaking English\, or do you prefer not to s
peak Dutch? No\nworries\, we will figure it out together.\n\nUpcoming sess
ions\n8th of July: Migration and Asylum Seekers’ Rights\n\nThis Dialogue e
vening is free to attend\, however with a donation ticket you\nsupport Dok
huis with keeping events and workshops free in the future.\nDokhuis is on
the ground floor & easily accessible for the visitors with\nweelchair. If
you need an extra help you can contact us on hosein@dokhuis.org\n[hosein@d
