DESCRIPTION:Film Club is an initiative by International Film Festival Rotte
rdam (IFFR). It\nbrings (aspiring) film lovers\, young filmmakers\, and cr
eatives together at\nvarious locations across the city to watch films and
share their interests. At\nthe Film Club in Dokhuis\, we focus on films by
	 Rotterdam-based makers or with a\nlocal Rotterdam flavor.\n\nOn May 1st\,
the International Workers’ Day\, IFFR Filmclub presents two bold and\ntho
ught provoking films: You Can’t Automate Me and Workers Wings. This screen
ing\ncreates a space for us to reflict on labour\, technolgy\, and changes
that occur\nin the realityies of work. This is also a reminder so that we
	\, as the audience\,\nhow human value\, creatrivity\, and resilience are s
haped in our rapidly\ntransforming world.\n\nThe two films look at work th
at usually stays out of sight\, each in its own way.\nIn Workers Wings\, f
ilmmaker Ilir Hasanaj spends time with experienced workers in\nKosovo whos
e lives have been shaped by tough\, often unsafe labour\, gently\nshowing
a generation that is slowly disappearing. In You Can’t Automate Me\, we\nf
ollow port workers doing physically demanding and risky work before ships
leave\nharbour\, getting a close look at what this work means for them day
to day.\n\nEntry is free! With a donation ticket\, you help make it possi
ble for other\nactivities at Dokhuis to remain free as well.
