Azur et Asmar (2006) by Michel Ocelot
A noble french child is traumatically separated from his Maghrebi nurse and her son, who is like a brother to him. As an adult, obsessed by the nurse's tales about a legendary Djinn-princess, he embarks for the Maghreb to save and marry her. While still told from a Western perspective, Ocelot's work remains respectful of the culture portrayed, avoiding most orientalist tropes. The medium is a very stylised, early CGI, with intricate depictions of plants, food, and buildings.
